Thinking About the Fourth of July

July 6th, 2011 by Shanon McCormick

We celebrated the Fourth in our usual fashion this year:  In the morning, we trekked to the square in our small seaside town to watch the parade (when you arrive, you can choose to watch or march.  It is a delightfully small-town affair).  Later in the day we ate lunch at our favorite pizza place, and then I took Sean and two friends to the beach for a few hours.  Can a holiday get more American than that?

Amalia Starr, the mother of a son who has autism, has written a wonderful piece about Independence Day from a special needs perspective over at Autisable.

I hope your holiday was wonderful!
